Security Platform Engineer
Cerbera sits in the path of how companies use AI. We run a transparent proxy that watches every place AI meets sensitive data and lets teams secure it in minutes. The platform that makes this possible has to be fast, reliable, and deeply secure by design.
As a Security Platform Engineer, you will build the core systems behind Cerbera: the proxy, the detection engine, and the controls that let customers govern AI usage without slowing anyone down.
This is a role for an engineer who is energized by hard systems problems and takes security seriously at every layer. Your work is the foundation everything else is built on.
[What you will do]
- Design and build the core platform: the transparent proxy, detection pipeline, and policy enforcement layer
- Engineer for low latency and high reliability, since Cerbera sits inline with customer traffic
- Build detection and classification logic that identifies sensitive data and risky AI usage in real time
- Treat security as a first-class concern in everything you ship, from data handling to deployment
- Partner with the team to define the architecture as we scale to more customers and more AI surfaces
- Instrument, monitor, and harden the platform so customers can trust it with their most sensitive flows
[What we are looking for]
- 5+ years building backend or infrastructure systems, ideally where performance and reliability matter
- Strong knowledge of networking, proxies, or systems that operate inline with traffic
- Solid security fundamentals and an instinct for how systems get attacked and how to defend them
- Comfortable owning complex systems end to end in a fast-moving environment
- Clear communicator who can reason about tradeoffs with the team and the customer in mind
[Nice to have]
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure-as-code
- Background in data loss prevention, network security, or detection engineering
- Familiarity with LLM APIs, MCP servers, or the AI tooling ecosystem
- Experience operating high-throughput, low-latency services in production
